Do universities even consider school clubs ( environment clubs, debating clubs blah blah) as good ECs. I've never really bothered doing them. I'm more drawn towards internships and voluntary work because almost everyone joins school clubs. They don't seem important , plus I don't study in America so.....
Any idea?

They care about passion not what you do. If you’re able to show passion and commitment towards your internships and voluntary work than go for it. An admission officer should be able to see what your passionate about through the things you have done outside of class.

Where are you planning on studying then? Depending upon the country, extracurriculars in general may be hardly considered if at all

To answer your question in America, it doesn’t matter so much what you do as how you commit to it. Use your time outside of school wisely, and invest in activities that you will be passionate about

Im a US citizen so I’ll do my undergrad from America. But I’ve lived in Pakistan which is obviously pretty different in terms of ECs.
