I'm a good writer and will likely have a strong, very unique essay.
I might be able to pull off a good interview as well, though I'd have to practice quite a bit.

I really messed up by going to a large public university (especially in two of my classes). It's the wrong fit, much too big, and I need to transfer to a smaller liberal arts college. I love Wesleyan. Eugene Lang College of The New School, Hampshire, Amherst, and Emerson look right too. What are my chances of transferring to any of these schools? Should I bother applying?

Thank you so very much.

The thing that most colleges eyeball closely in their transfer apps, is the performance in college. Amherst and Wesleyan are very competitive in admissions, and it is doubtful that a record like yours will get you in those schools. THe other thing a school wants to know is why you are transferring. That you messed up by going to a large uni and did poorly, is not going to cut it. My suggestion is to take a year off, take some courses at a local college and EXCELL in them, maybe in different fields than originally studying. That will give you a stronger chance in transfer acceptances.

Then I would be transferring after three years of college, isn’t that a bad idea?

And it’s not that simple- I do not feel adequately challenged here, my classes are not interesting, there is little opportunity for classroom discussion, etc.

What about New School? I’m leaning towards that.

Thanks again.

How small you want? I go to Susquehanna University it’s about 2,000 students set in a rural town.

I was looking for an urban school, or at least one not far from cities; Selingsgrove seems to be in the middle of nowhere. Any other advice / school recommendations would be appreciated.

Any other advice? It’s welcomed warmly …

what school do you currently attend

sorry, can’t help

I still don’t know what to think/do.
