good medicine colleges with fin aid.

What are good medicine colleges/unis in Countries like US, Canada, France, generally Europe, which could offer also substantial financial aid for internationals? I heard it's hard to get finaid in the UK. Also please don't say only Harvard and so on, also some colleges easier to get into would be very helpful.

Thanks

First you have to differentiate between the US and the rest of the world. In the US you need to complete a Bachelor's degree before attending med school. In the rest of the world, you usually attend med school right out of high school.

Where are you from?
As an American you can "easily" get fin aid for US med schools, as a citizen of a European country you could get fin aid in the UK. In Germany you could attend med school for $600 of tuition per semester regardless of citizenship but you would have to be fluent in German.

I am from Western Europe. That's why I am not very familiar with the US system. But I heard there was premed, or something similar in the US..
Sorry for my ignorance, and thank you

Oops.. Sorry I mean Eastern Europe (where was my head..). So basically I'm interested in Wested Europe and US universities/colleges.

Pre-med in the US is just a series of introductory courses you need to take to qualify for med school and usually involves 2 semesters of biology, 2 semesters of physics, 2 semesters of organic chemistry and 1-2 semesters of inorganic chemistry. Most colleges don't have a pre-med major but rather a pre-med track, meaning you take the pre-med courses while completing the work for a regular major (which might be anything from biology to history). Then after completing your Bachelor's degree after 4 years you can go to med school which takes another 4 years (2 years of preclinical and 2 years of clinical studies). While quite a lot of international students receive financial aid during their undergraduate years, med schools usually do not support international students financially (the only exceptions I am aware of are Harvard and Yale).

Which country are you from exactly (inside or outside the EU)? And are you fluent in any foreign language other than English? I am asking this because medical education in Western Europe is generally done in the native language of the respective country.

Not EU, unfortunately. FLuent in Russian and a bit French.

It is surprising for me that there is no medicine major at undergraduate level. At us, people study medicine in college about six years, and then have more.

Anyway, what schools would provide a decent pre-med track?

you could study in australia

kha7577, aren't Australian universities quite expensive with little to no scholarships offered to international students (other than those from developing countries)?

ilig, I think almost every American university has a decent pre-med track because pre-med is really only consists of introductory courses.

after you finished medical school in the US what happens?
