Good not great political science programs.

What are some good political science programs that I should check out? I screwed up freshman year really bad but as a sophemore I am doing alot better o have around a 3.5-3.7 range. I have pretty good E.C and alot of community service. I figure I can't get into any ivies, MIT, Georgetown, Stanford, or berekely because of my horrid freshman year and even with my sophemore grades i know it won't happen. So I was just wondering what are some good programs that aren't really selective. Thank you.

Those grades aren’t terrible! I think there was a thread on CC about schools that don’t look at freshman year grades—take a look for that. Otherwise it’s hard to tell without scores. Political science is such a common major that I think you would just look for schools whose average SAT score is the same as yours or a little lower. Just go for the best general academic quality you can get. That said, schools around D.C. are generally known for international relations and political stuff. George Washington and American if you don’t have the scores for Georgetown.

Also, Syracuse, Boston University, Rutgers, George Mason, Ohio State and Suny Albany. Best of luck!
