Hi,
Could everybody who success on SAT deliver your reading list like Frankenstein, Bible, Wuthering Heights which helps you considerably increase CR score ? I definitely appreciate your answers ! Thank in advance !!!

Just read difficult novels on a variety of subjects. However, the majority of the SAT is on essays and narratives and articles, not stories.

Dude you need help with the writing section. Good novels for success on the SAT or....

"Good Novels Which Helped you succeed ??? "

Give him a break, he's from Vietnam. But forasmuch that Duongviethai has these grammar problems, he should be reading a lot of books (any kid he can get his hands on).

Heres a list of suggessted literature books

Your post had quite a few grammatical errors in it, but I won't judge your English proficiency based solely on that, because a lot of people put less effort into their writing online than on paper.

However, if English isn't your native language, and you haven't had a great deal of exposure to it, I wouldn't recommend diving into all those "difficult books" right away. It would be just like going to the gym with no prior work-out experience and trying to bench 400 lbs.

Read all the Harry Potter books (if you already haven't)

They will boost your score considerably.

^ not sure if he is joking or not. But yes, in general, you have to read more (especially! if english is not your main language that you speak)

^^^^agreed

i wasn't joking hahahaha. i was re-reading the harry potter books earlier and i was surprised to see the amount of SAT vocabulary in there. it should also help with your writing score.

Really? So words like "Wizengamot" and "Wingardium Leviosa" are tested on the SAT?

I would never recommend the HP novel for the SAT... unless you want to misspell words like "Ridikulous".

^LOL :D (10 char)

The Grapes of Wrath -Steinbeck
really good book, has alot of moral stories that CB likes to make us write about.

i think reading anything above people magazine in general will help your score on the SAT, not to mention that if you don't read anything like that regularly you're probably a lower life form

So has anyone else noticed this?

Do Christians get a higher score on the CR section?

I'm not a native either and I don't usually read books in english. For the ones they make me read in english class, I just sparknote them or look at translated version.(>_< yup, that's how lazy I am) Reading books for CR just doens't work for me. I tried a few books but I saw no progress. The only reason that I improved my CR score(from 490 to 720) is that I did a lot of practice SAT passage reading. The best way to prepare for CR is to do CR imo.

^ more proof of my advice: CR passages to improve CR!!

Who would have known?

That's what I say too. For people who say "should i read magazines JUST for the SAT?" No, you should read books and magazine for personal interest and general knowledge. Sure they help for the SAT but you know. Now, the best way to increase SAT score is to read SAT passages from workbooks etc. The only reason I would imagine that people read books etc just for the SAT would be because they want a solid story and an adventure rather than mini stories (the passages). Other than that, I can't think of anything. So if you don't mind them, READ THE SAT PASSAGES FOR PRACTICE.
