I'm looking into Stanford's currently, because I've heard it's really good, but can you guys recommend me some other good ones? I'm currently a freshman, and it's my first year doing debate, and my partner and I have had varying amounts of success at our tournaments so far.
I want a program that will help me become a better debater, and also help me prepare for that year's topic.
Thank you!

I am a freshman that’s also interested, so I’m getting in this thread.

There’s tons of really good debate camps across the country. Dartmouth, UMich (7 week), Northwestern, and Emory are just a few of the ones that you’ll probably hear about a lot. Given the cost of going to camp though ($1000+), it’ll really depend upon your location and the cost/benefits of going to a particular one. Also, your level of debate can have a significant impact upon how much you really get out of camp. Going to a prestigious program that has a good reputation for its senior lab only might not really get you what you hoped to achieve out of attending camp.

If you don’t mind me asking, what state do you live in? And how much experience do you have with debate? I know you said that this is your first year, so I’m assuming that you’re a novice, right? :)

I currently live in California, but my parents said that as long as the camp was less than $6,000 they’d be willing to send me anywhere in the continental U.S. (That’s probably an exaggeration, though, rofl)
And yeah, I’m a novice. :)

Go to Dartmouth. It’s the best program in the country, bar none.
