I'm a senior and I'm applying to college in 1 month. Everyday I tell myself that my college list is complete but I constantly keep changing it. As of now I'm set on majoring in biology or chemistry like all pre med students, and I understand that's this is the typical path and most pre med students end up quitting or choosing a different major but I've been pretty set in this path since I can remember. At the moment I have Vanderbilt, Emory, University of Miami and University of Florida (I live I'm Florida) as my top colleges, I've done extensive research on these schools and they seem to have pretty good classes for pre med students, a relaxed environment, pretty campuses and as for Vanderbilt and Miami an urban community. I previously considered Johns Hopkins but then I found out that it has a very cut throat competitive environment, I absolutely hate that, and grade deflation. But then again I want to go to a good school for pre med with high medical school acceptance rates. Unfortunately colleges don't really publicize this information so it's hard for me to find out. Also I totally recognize that pre med everywhere is competitive and hard, but some worse than others. I have been looking into Wash U and Boston College. Basically my question is: can anyone recommend me a good college for majoring in pre med with a friendly environment and a high medical school acceptance rate? Also if anyone has been to any of the schools I mentioned, can you give a brief description of the pre med environment in that school? Thank you :)))
