Good Psychology programs?

I'm currently a junior in high school and I've been looking at universities in Florida with strong undergraduate Psychology programs. I've only been looking at state universities because finances are tight, but any suggestions are great. I've visited UF, USF, and UCF and I'm planning on visiting FSU next summer, as well as a few other colleges.

I'm not really sure where to go from here though, and it'd be great if anyone could give me a better idea of which programs are considered the best.
Thanks for your help!

The Department of Psychology at Florida is the oldest in Florida. Go visit. It’s right next to the med school.

Whoops. I should proofread more carefully.

My fiance was a psych major at UF. I can ask him about the program if you want. :)

I would say, consider applying to a few out-of-state places as well, that give good financial aid (whether merit or need-based). You may get a good enough aid package to attend, and if you don’t, and can’t attend, you’re only out the application fee.

Do you know what kind of psychology you’re interested in? That could influence people’s recommendations.

Based on reputation (there may be other factors that you care about in a school) for psychology overall, I would say that UF, FSU, U of Miami, and USF are the good ones in Florida. Probably in that order, though that’s debatable.

keep in mind that in order to practice as a psychologist (if that’s your goal) then you need at least a Masters. So you might want to take into account schools that have linked programs that either promise acceptance to undergrads who meet cutoff criteria or that allow taking classes towards both your Masters and BA.

Consider Emory which has a great program, as does Duke. Both have good finaid.
