Good reach schools for me!?

Hey guys so I'm from Chicago and I'm looking for a couple reach schools to apply to. I want to major in business and I have a 4.3 weighted 3.97 uw GPA and a 29 ACT (hing that tomorrow ill find out it went up!!!). I prefer warm locations lol I know that sounds dumb but really I do. Also, a big factor is cost, I know that I won't get a lot of financial aid and at a prestigious school I prolly won't get in much else be in the top group that receives scholarships. Right now University of South Carolina and University of Illinois are my match schools and I have a few safety's, any reach suggestions would be great!!! Thanks guys:)

What would you like to major?

Business, but I’m not exactly sure with exact business major

NYU Stern is a good reach

Way too expensive

Bump 10 char

Try Tulane.

Can your parents pay their EFC - will you need financial aid (100% need met) or will you need merit aid to defray costs (your parents have money but they’d appreciate a scholarship for your stats)?
If you’re from IL, are you aware for example that OOS public universities will NOT meet your EFC (ie they may admit you but how you pay is your problem)?
If you want merit aid, look into Rhodes, Hendrix, Millsaps, Guilford.
For a real reach, Oxford College at Emory or Davidson but you wouldn’t get merit aid, only need-based, and they’re reaches so odds are not good you’d get in although it’s a possibility because a 3.97 uw is impressive.

The problem is that I won’t get any financial aid, but I still cannot afford to go to an extremely expensive school. So it’s kind of a weird situation lol

OK so you need schools with good merit aid.

  • I’m assuming you ran the Net price calculators on the websites? If not, do so.
The colleges I listed for merit aid are all good, in the South, and offering very good with merit aid. Ask for information on their websites.
