I'm taking the June ACT and I'm without a calculator. Anyone know a good graphing calculator for a reasonable price that's legal on the ACT?

TI-84 Plus C Silver Edition
It’s in color, and that’s all you need to know.

Not sure I’m wanting to drop 100 though lol

You don’t really need much for the ACT. I used a basic scientific calculator (Ti-36X Pro), the most advanced thing it can do is solve for X in equations, but when you start throwing square roots or absolute values at it it goes fairly slowly.

Nonetheless, I don’t think you’d need anything too fancy, unless you want the calculator to do everything for you (circle equations, special right triangles etc.), aspects that, it is simply more time-efficient to actually know the material.

Cheapest graphing calculator I can find is Casio on Wal-Mart, which runs around 40-70 USD.

Scientific calculator that can evaluate logarithms, trig functions, etc. is probably your best buy.

You can get it online for cheaper, I’m sure. I’d recommend a TI-84, Silver edition or not.

Check out Amazon.

Check your local pawn shops, thrift stores, etc. College kids that no longer need their calculators sometimes pawn them off. My brother picked up a TI-83 plus for 5 dollars. Now that’s reasonably priced!

Well my problem has been somewhat solved. My uncle had a TI-86 lying around that I’m gonna use.

That’s a very reasonable price!
