I am planning on applying for transfers but I'm still pretty in the dark about where to apply. I was wondering if anyone knew where I am a high match/match for a school. I was thinking of applying to Northeastern but it turns out their econ program is very lacking :\ anyhow this is my course history
Was hoping to find out about colleges in the northeast that have strong econ programs that might also have strong math/stat programs.
Do I have a shot at BU?

Thanks! It looks very good but I’m wondering what my chances are? And how lax are they with transferring credits? I want the credits from UWMilwaukee to transfer over definitely, but I think I could do without some of those CC credits :(.

You should be able to get into BU. You should also reach for Holy Cross, Northeastern and BC, as they have slightly better business programs than BU but are also slightly harder to get into. Could also take a look at Villanova, NYU and Fordham for business.

Haha thank you guys :D!
I actually ended up applying to Holy Cross, BU, BC, NEU.
From what I hear from friends who currently attend BU and BC are the hardest to get into. NEU seems to be the easiest and Holy Cross is a toss up~ admissions staff at Holy Cross said the usual transfer applicant accepted had a GPA around 3.0

The professors here are pushed to do research. Most classes are taught by teacher assistants who are completely busy with their own graduate classes or have very little teaching experience. The economics department here is also very small so even though a lot of courses are offered you’d be extremely lucky if you’re able to fit them into a schedule that coordinates with other classes.

Plus the majority of the student body here only want to party. Econ has almost no presence on this campus.

Just looking for a stronger program I guess.

I know I won’t get as high of a GPA somewhere else but when it comes down to knowing the material thoroughly I’ll take a cut in my grades for a deeper understanding of the topic. What good is a 4.0 if you can’t apply concepts to real life situations. Or well that is what I think.

BU used to be harder than Northeastern and BC, but BC and Northeastern are now harder. The SAT and GPA ranges are slightly higher at Northeastern and much higher at BC/HC. BU is a great safety school though.

Really? I’ve been hearing that BU is better academically but that BC has a better reputation. >_> any clue on how lenient any of those schools are with transferring of credits?

Yeah, BU is harder to get into than Northeastern. BC is harder than BU. You will not get into BC. You would not have gotten into Holy Cross either. I think you will get into Northeastern and have a decent shot at BU. Good luck.

mm I’m fine with that I like the courses offered at BU a lot better. Anyhow… I’m not sure how long it takes for transfer applicants to hear back.
