Good schools for Vocal Performance (soprano)???

Hi everyone! I'm about to enter my senior year in high school so it's time to start the college process! I plan on majoring in Music Performance for voice. Ideally I would like to attend a small-ish liberal arts school in California that has a good classical program (not interested in opera or jazz). I have good grades and ACT scores. I already have a few schools in mind, but would greatly appreciate any advice or information you can give me. Thanks so much!

well, i highly recommend both rice university and northwestern university(especially!). but neither seem to fit your criteria.

So what are your career plans if you are going into the classical field.

I wouldn't recommend Rice if you aren't interested in opera. It isn't a LAC and it isn't in the west....

So, if you're not into opera or jazz, what kind of singing are you interested in? Choral? Church music? That's probably going to be an important factor in choosing the school.
