Good Score Range for Barron's SAT Math II?

^ For some reason the diag. test has 51 questions…

forgot to round.

^ I guess you weren’t kidding:

Just kidding. Good luck!

Hey there everyone , I´m a student from México who bought Barron´s MathII and princeton´s review for Physics and got a 770 on the Math 2 Subject test and a 720 on the physics. I had really basic courses on the subjects tested , actually I consider that i had seen about 40% of what the MathII ST covers and about 20 or 25% of what the physics covers. I got both books about 9 days before the test and studied them and read every single page. I´m not lying I actually studied almost every day for about 6-7 hours before the December test. And for those who believe that in order to score high on the Math Test you need a Graphic Calc. let me tell you that with the most simple and common Casio which I actually found one day , I got close to the 800. If anyone needs help or some tips for the tests , seriously don´t hesitate to contact me , I´ll be more than glad to help everyone. Now I guess I´ll go and have some Tequila , Good luck to everyone.

700-760 Barron’s = easy 800 on the real deal it seems.

Yeah, even though I’ve never used Barrons, it can’t be THAT much harder than the real SAT II, right? (show me some impossibly hard Barrons questions and I’ll take back that statement). I would still aim at a consistent 42-43+ to ensure an 800 on the real test.

I bought the Barron’s book after seeing the reviews on Amazon…everybody said that it was harder than the actual test and I found that to be quite true. I scored in the 710-750 range on the Barron’s practice tests and got an 800 on the SAT Math 2, which I just got today :). Anyway, I recommend that you learn everything except conic sections, which rarely, if ever, come up on the test. Even if they do, they are very simple and only require a superficial knowledge. Good luck!

@MITer94:

Barron’s is harder in the sense that it’s much more calculator-intensive and requires more time pushing all those buttons and waiting for the calculator to graph. And thanks for your help (+ the indian guy’s) while I was prepping for the test.

Ah. Do any math II questions require graphing capabilities? That would seem unfair…

I also bought Barrons for Math II, for me averaging around a 650-690 on the Barrons tests got me an easy 800

(for Physics, I used Kaplan and averaged about a 700-750, and I got a 780)

sorry for the bump
If i get a 760 on the new barrons sat math 2 can i get an 800 on the real one realisticaly?

I’ve never scored above a 670 on the barrons math test. After taking the real sat math 2 its life changing. The barron’s is SOOOOO much harder than the actual test. I can’t stress how much harder it is enough. Now lets see what I get. :slight_smile: ;))
