Learned a lot about how the trading works, and I studied for the series 7 (stockbroker) examination. Paid internship. I got this job because I was selected from a group of 20 underclassmen who took AP econ this year. Every year a student from my high school gets to work for the firm because of excellence in economics and I got lucky.

Hi, I’m from NJ as well, applying to some of the similar schools, and I think you’ve got a pretty good chance. Your resume is great, and you definitely have an ethnic/diversity appeal that not many other students have, as demonstrated by your ECs. You seem like a very well-rounded individual with a stress on both academics and athletics. That internship sounds amazing–wish my school had that. Are you planning on studying econ? I’d say you’re pretty much in at Penn, Cornell, Wash U, Rutgers Honors (with decent $ as well), and most likely Columbia. Harvard, Yale, MIT are always crapshoots but you have a good shot, and then all the others I really don’t know enough about to make a decent judgement. I feel inadequate being read by the same admission counselors as you, best of luck!
