Good sophomore SAT/ACT?

Those are very respectable scores. :)

From what I have seen with similar students, your scores may look like…

SAT 2200-2300
ACT 33-35

Your ACT score is noticeably better than your SAT score. Either is good for a sophomore, though.

I got a 31 on my practice ACT as a sophomore but 34s on both of my real ACTs, and I got a 219 on my PSAT (technically, that was in early junior year, but still) and a 2230 on my SAT. Yes, you can improve to a 34+ from a 32; HOWEVER, you’ll have to work at it rather than assuming you’ve got it in the bag. One of my friends got a 32 on his sophomore practice ACT but only a 27 on the real thing.

IWell sophomore year I got a 192 on my PSAT, and by the end of junior year I got a 2270 sat without studying. Even if you don’t study your score will most likely increase after taking advanced high school math and English courses. However, if you study I’m sure you could bring it up quicker! Good luck:]

Yeah, the ACT is much better.

Do you guys think I should focus on getting it up to around a 34 and sort of forget the SAT? I’ve got a really packed schedule so I need to devote time to where it’s most needed.

Will schools let me just submit my ACT instead of both (sorry, I’m not really sure how this works).

Schools will allow you to submit the ACT instead but, some elite schools (HPMCG) require SATIIs along with the ACT so as long as these schools abide by score choice (cherry-picking which scores to send), your SAT will not be required.

Thanks. I’m planning on taking a few SAT IIs.
