Some students have a background or story that is so central to their identity that they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story.

I plan to talk about growing up in a bi-cultural family but identifying with one more than i do with the other. In addition, I plan on talking about how I applied these principles within my specific culture to my family life, personal life, and social life and how it has influenced my decisions to bring me where I am today.

Does this sound too cliche? Oh and btw I come from an Italian and Filipino family but I consider myself to be raised in a Filipino setting thanks to my mother.

Purely depends on how well you do it. I think that has the potential to be a great essay!

I think it could be interesting if you indicated certain issues that come up and how you would react differently based on ethnicity.
