<p>I'm having trouble finding up-tempo baritone songs that are from the Standard Repertoire. I did manage to find one that I liked from the musical Pal Joey! I can belt up to a G above middle C...but for college auditions I feel it would be to risky. So the highest I would belt would be an F. Does anyone know of any good songs? ANY help or suggestion is very much appreciated!</p>
<p>finding songs for other people is extremely difficult, especially if you can reach G's or A's or what not, then I want to assume you can't croon lower notes with ease, like me. I would stay look more into pop musical theatre songs if you're nervous about hitting notes or what not at an audition because they can show off talent without forcing brilliant technique. "I can't stand still" from footloose comes to mind, though was pretty popular last year. "Forest For the Trees" from the Spitfire Grill is similar to that. Otherwise my suggestion to you is going to amazon.com and looking up the Musical Theatre Anthologies--tenor or baritone--and looking up the songs they have on YouTube. It can give you a good feel for the songs before you actually by the book. </p>

<p>My son used "You've Got to be Taught" from South Pacific last year- he initially wasn't that crazy about it, but he had a very successful audition season, so-</p>
<p>My son used "Purpose" from Avenue Q last year. It was probably an unconventional choice (maybe), but it worked for him.</p>
<p>I have one that I like...i'm just kind of trying to find that one song that will really showcase my voice the best.</p>
<p>Here are some oldies but goodies sure to make your auditors smile. "Come Back to Me" from "On A Clear Day" - take it from the bridge and cut to the final ending; or "On a Clear Day" from the same musical; or, "On A Wonderful Day Like Today" from "Roar of the Greasepaint, Smell of the Crowd" (Anthony Newley).
