Good US History Movies

We get to watch movies dealing with US History in class. I want to make a list of really good ones. Let’s do it CC! (in most idealistic gay voice ever)

Malcom X

Come on now...

Malcom X

1776, hands down

The only movie my class watched this year was Iron-Jawed Angels. It's a pretty good HBO movie about the women's suffrage movement leading up to the 19th amendment. Hilary Swank plays Alice Paul.

We're watching The Patriot now, since the exam is over.

Anything Ken Burns related.

I'm guessing you don't just mean war, but social issues and stuff like that too?

I know there's a couple of movies based on the Scopes trial, I found that kind of interesting.

Is The Patriot good? I haven't seen it.

Glory

Patton (I've never seen it the whole way through, actually, but from what I've heard...)

We're watching Forrest Gump in US right now. I just now realized why, too...

kill bill .

miller's crossing

it is the solution to prohibition era gangster films

(the untouchables) too..CRAP forgot about that one.

Glory is good, we watched that. Can't believe I forgot it.

good morning vietnam is a great movie...

Mississippi Burning (racial tension)

Tora! Tora! Tora!

Bad Day in Black Rock

my APUS teacher knows how to pick awesome movies no one knows about.

we also watched Forrest Gump as zach mentioned

The Devil's brigade

wait..WHY FORREST GUMP!!! DATS SUCH A AWESOME MOVIE AND we didnt see it in US history.
