For those of us taking U.S. History Subject Test...

So I'm loading my Netflix queue with historically relevant movies in preparation.

My favorites:
-Nixon (1995)
-1776 (1972)
-All The President's Men (1976)
-Glory (1989)
-The Gangs of New York (2002) (fictional story, but still a great way to learn about the agenda of the Know-Nothing Party and nativist groups)
-Full Metal Jacket (1987) (also fictional, but... well, it's Full Metal Jacket)

These are on my queueueue; never seen them before:
-The Birth of a Nation (1915)
-JFK (1991)
-Good Night and Good Luck (2005)

Your choices?

if your just going to study by watching the movies, i would just read through a review book

No, no, of course I have review books and all that cute stuff.

I'm not just watching movies to study. But I like to watch movies. And I'm trying to watch films relating to U.S. history this month.

Anyone?

books? which 1's

alfonso soriano has been on so many different teams

Birth of a Nation is a pro Ku Klux Klan movie, just to let you know.

Yes, well aware. Griffith's treatment was notoriously racist.

But it's an artifact, brother! Dig?

i dont know what the movie is called but its about the cuban missile crisis
saving private ryan is good

cuban missile crisis movie is thirteen days. too bad john adams isnt on dvd yet.

Even though it's a pro-KKK movie, Birth of a Nation shows up frequently on both APUSH and SAT USH tests.

I'm taking it. What exactly is on it anyway? I'm kinda scared if there are questions about movies.

"Even though it's a pro-KKK movie, Birth of a Nation shows up frequently on both APUSH and SAT USH tests."

Yup. It was on the US AP this year, and on some SAT practice tests I've done. So I'm tired of just readign about this film in a historical format; it's time I watch the damn thing. Who's with me?
