If a person is selected for an interview, what is the likihood of them actually getting the internship?
How long does it take to hear to get the next email after receiving the supplemental? I applied late October and submitted the supplemental November 9
@rc2016 For an interview, it depends on what team and whether or not that team has selected you for an interview. If you’re not selected for an interview, you will continue to get the generic emails, such as the “hang tight” ones or get a rejection email. Best of luck!
Is it still worth it to get a referral if we applied a couple months ago? Would that push it through or is that not possible.
Yes, it’s always worth it! @thebloom
but make sure the referral is to a specific team cause it’s the team that selects you for an interview. @thebloom
Also, if a person is selected for an interview, what is the likelihood of them actually getting the internship?
@asphalt70 It probably just depends on the team and how your interview went. I’m pretty sure one of the interviewers (assuming theres more than one) is someone that will be on your team or someone that you will see often during the internship.
Hi all, I interviewed for BOLD on Monday of this weeks for their People Ops team (Don’t want to go too into specifics of which team yet) but I wanted to know how long it might be until I hear back?
FYI I did have a referral from doing a small virtual program with the company in August for students.
They said it would take 1+ weeks. But I honestly think at most two weeks. They can be rather quick depending on your team and how many interns they typically have for the summer. @kdawg1212 How did you think your interview went. And what sort of questions did they ask?
@asphalt70 my interviews both went very well. I believe at one point an interviewer even used my examples from a previous question to answer a question I asked him. They asked a lot of behavioral questions focused around my prior leadership, my ability to adjust in difficult situations, working under pressure, and how I work with others.
@kdawg1212 The interview I had was I’d say the complete opposite. They asked very little behavioral (at most 2, not even) and a bunch of technical questions, and I was shocked cause it was something I didn’t expect from a BOLD interview! It really became very difficult for me quite honestly, so not expecting a positive result.
For those of you who have had an interview, did you receive the “hang on tight” emails and how long after applying did they contact you about an interview?
If I want to add another department that I would want to work in, but did not include it in my supplemental material application could I email the recruiter that emailed me and let her know? Or should I just see what happens when the one I put down?
I applied in early September for this and received the supplemental form the following day. I hadn’t heard anything from Google until this morning when I received the “hang tight” email. Does this mean they are still reviewing my application or are they going to schedule an interview from this point?
For those who did receive an interview, how long was your buffer period between the “hang tight” email and scheduling of a google hangout?
@msmc101 It took me about a month from the supplemental (Oct) till interview (Nov). But don’t rely on that. Each team is different. And when you get the hang tight email, it really just means they have you in the system for potential teams to review and select from.
@asphalt70 May I ask which department were you selected for?
@asphalt70 congrats on the interview!
