@asphalt70 Really, technical questions? Did you indicate on your resume that you had some sort of technical background? Because I’d be really surprised if they threw such a curveball if you didn’t say that you at least had some knowledge on the subject beforehand.
Also, I just got a “Thank You for Applying” email today along with an outline for the process and instructions for competing offers. Did any of you guys get that email as well? Because it seems different from the “hang tight” and “corporate culture” ones that I’ve seen other people mention so far.
@BladeHunter Yup, to a degree! However, when I asked my recruiter what I should prep for, they gave us this guide and I was like okay its all going to be Hypothetical/Behavioral instead of technical. So that is what I prepared for the most.
@BladeHunter I received that today too. Not sure what to think about it…
I also received the “Thank you for applying” email today and I am very unsure of what it means…
@479470 No I haven’t ever received an email saying hang on tight or anything like that. My next email after applying was about interviewing & connecting with a recruiter.
@msmc101 my time line was beginning of October I applied and I got my next email about interviews Halloween or the very beginning of November
I got that email as well. I applied at the end of October and received my supplemental the following day from a recruiter named Eden. I heard back yesterday an email titled "What Happens Next?’ I am a bit upset because I couldn’t extend my other offers so I ended up declining them for a chance at Google. Not sure if I should reach out to anyone or just wait.
I am also a bit scared that my application will be overlooked because I go to a public school and no one has worked/interned at Google from my school
Although I had a recruiter I’m still a little nervous because it’s Google BOLD and I sent a follow up to my recruiter on Monday and he hasn’t responded :-S
@kdawg1212 NGL they are very responding to emails.
So is it bad that I have not received a single email ever since I applied back on October 3rd?
I don’t think so. Just email the bold team and see if they have your application. Doesn’t hurt to ask. Also, they will literally be conducting interviews till around March, so no worries! @Creator104
Ok thank you! I was worried at first but then if they didnt want me they would’ve rejected me by now.
Could you reply with their email address? Im not too sure what it is.
@Creator104 Wait, did you at least receive the “Thank You for Your Interest” generic Google email that they send out with all applications? Because if you did, then they definitely received it. I don’t want to be the bringer of bad news, but you might have just not made it past the first stage of screening and as a result, not made the cut for the supplemental and them never getting back to you. Regardless, wouldn’t hurt to reach out with that email that @asphalt70 provided.
What does it mean if a recruiter isn’t responding though?

@BladeHunter Could it be that they reach out to U.S. candidates first?
@Creator104 Wait, you aren’t from the US? Just out of curiosity, do you have the authorization to work in the US without sponsorship? Because if that’s a no, then unfortunately you’d be automatically disqualified. It was also one of the first questions on the supplemental as well as the regular application. Also, were you able to check if you got that generic “Thank you for your interest” email that Google sends out to anyone who applies to any job at Google?
