Today is the deadline to send in the docusign, at least for me (for future reference). If people don’t send that in, that could mean more people off the waitlist
I got into the Austin program too! C ya!
Yaa -I’m from Dallas so the Dallas Office is not hosting any CSSI so I got selected into Austin so my parents have to pay for the hotel though!! 8-|
I’ll be attending the Austin one but I did not apply for scholarship as I didn’t think I would qualify #-o
Google CSSI people- Do you know if they actually ‘teach’ you something new or do they ask you what you actually know then help you develop some projects on that?
That sounds pretty interesting/great to me !
@carattica you already got an email for docusign? I haven’t received that email from Google yet…
google are you kidding meeee?? I still haven’t heard back -_-
@treepanda Same here
I haven’t heard anything from them since I applied, with exception of the receiving notifications by mid-may. Does anyone else have any info about their progress, and if the majority of the applicants have already been notified?
Check your other emails guys! I got a text and I had completely forgot about my other email
Got a response today. Didn’t get in. Life goes on
@jd1209 sorry for the late response, but yeah. They sent out the DocuSign and a travel survey for the residential locations I believe. Also, @lulu33920 we have a Seattle group chat on slack as well!
Does anyone know how selective the CSSI-Coursera program application is? Also, when do we hear back from CSSI-Coursera for our final decisions?
Got into the Coursera course, but I already know everything they have to offer in Java.
Kinda disappointed.
@D1ngus Congrats on the Coursera invite! Sorry to hear you won’t be able to significantly improve your CS knowledge through the Coursera program though. Also, did you already receive an acceptance letter for Coursera specifically or just an invite to apply?
@Rojobot Just an invite to apply.
This is weird though, it’s almost like they’re punishing people with more experience.
Yeah I feel what you’re saying. I guess the program’s objective is to provide as much opportunity as needed for incoming undergraduates with a strong interest in tech without much or any technical skills or experiences.
Do you know if the CSSI-Coursera program is really selective? I’m really hoping to get in since I don’t really have any CS experience, and it sounds really cool.
I got in the Kirkland CSSI! I was notified back in late April. They already started to email me about housing/commuting.

FYI: I have barely to no background in CS, and I’m honestly not the best when it comes to writing, but I actually put a lot of effort and honesty in my answers (The question about how I managed to solve conflict is what I think what helped a lot).
I have a GPA of 3.95/4.0 (mainly took honor/running start classes), attending UW-Seattle, and my highest SAT score was 1230. (*note: I barely studied for the SAT)

I’m kinda shocked, and I initially thought I was going to get rejected. I think it was my leadership and my strong interest in CS is what helped.
Anyways, anyone who’s in the Kirkland CSSI, let’s make a group chat and link up! I’m so excited, especially living in the Cornish Dorms near downtown Seattle.
