So, I just recently got a phone call from someone congratulating me on getting into the Baruch Honors program. He told me it's not the same as Macaulay Honors, but it still includes the free tuition and laptop, more or less saying they're pretty much the same. However, I haven't gotten a letter or e-mail telling me the same thing. I tried to call the number they have on the Baruch Honors site to make sure, but they're only available Mondays to Fridays from 9AM to 5PM. So now I'm wondering if this call was legit or not. Am I just being unnecessarily paranoid or should I be concerned?

What are your stats like to get into that school program ?

Brooklyn College has its own honors program separate from Macaulay, so I wouldn’t be surprised that Baruch has their own as well.

I’m not doubting whether Baruch has its own honors program, I’m wondering whether the phone call was legitimate. As for my stats, I have a 3.56 GPA, 2130 SAT score, 1420 without Writing. I don’t have much extra-curriculars, but I was on the bowling team, tennis team, Scholastic Bowl and Drama Club. However, the first three were only from junior to senior year and the last was senior.

I would call them and ask.

I already called, they’re only open on weekdays from 9AM to 5PM.

Its legitimate, I got a call from Baruch regarding housing too (the person said: “From One Macaulay student to another, Congratulations on your acceptance,” so I am assuming that I got in. The acceptance packet should come in next week, I guess.)

Congrats though on Honors, they do have it and it is as you described it.
