I have a slight problem, or rather worry.

At my school we have both AP Chemistry Lab and AP Chemistry Lecture (two periods of the day). Last year, first semester I received a C+ in Lecture and a solid B in Lab. When I was filling out the academic history part of my application, I saw that they only had AP Chemistry as one class. I called the UC admissions people and asked them if I should write in both or just use what was there. They told me to use what was there, so I averaged out the two grades for both classes and put it down as a B. Now, I am nervous that what the admissions people told me was wrong and that when they get my transcript in June, they will see in the inconsistency and think I lied. I have no proof of what they told me, so I'm not sure what to do. Any advice?

Uh…B and a C+ don’t average out to a B. LOL.

Anyway you should call the admissions office now and explain the situation sooner rather than later.

I know, they average out to a B-, but that option isn’t there.
And thank you.

Daughter’s school is similar case for AP physics. Daughter called UC admission and was told the same thing. But I told her to manually input AP Physics Lab into the application since the transcript would show up two classes.

It seems UC admission has been giving a consistent answer. So just write an email to explain what you wrote in the post and keep a record you report it.

Thank you, that definitely makes me feel a lot better that I’m not the only one who was given that answer. And I just wrote and sent an e-mail explaining the whole thing.
