I got into USC as a transfer (spring), and even after appealing, we couldn't afford it. My parents offered to pay and go into debt to send me there and I just couldn't do that to them, it just made me feel so guilty. So here I am, a junior at my safety school. I'm just really devastated. I thought I'd get over it by now but I'm really upset with myself and how this has all turned out.

Could someone say something bad about USC or something please? :(

You made the “smart” choice. Being in debt is just not a fun thing. If you got in as a transfer to USC, you are obviously competent and capable of succeeding college. Just do well in your undergrad and consider going to USC for grad school. Congrats, btw! You should be proud of yourself for getting in!

Its the University of Spoiled Children, their football program has been in a lot of trouble recently, the school is in the ghetto (South Central) and its dangerous to walk at night, the professors and classes aren’t that great, and there’s a better school 10 miles away

You made the smart and responbible choice. Far too many people graduate with debt and then spend years paying it back. Do well at your safety school, save what you can and in a few years time apply to USC for Grad School.

I transferred even though I couldn’t afford it and now I am going to be living with my parents for the next ten years. THAT is devastating. You made the right choice, just ride it out and you’ll get over it eventually.

Most people love whatever university they end up in?

I didn’t get the grades for my choice university, but I’m very happy with my college and wouldn’t trade it for anywhere else.
I love the campus, the city, the lake, the people, the shopping, the location, the classes, the professors and the atmosphere.

Sorry I’m on my year abroad at the moment so I’ve started waxing lyrical about my home university! First fall in two years that I’m not going there. sniff

wow all the above posters said things that would put a smile on the OP’s face(hopefully).
Like one of the above posters stated, If you could get in as a transfer, then you definitely can succeed at your current school.
There is always grad school as well.
