I just got into one of my which had me celebrating but I just realized that I reported that I took AP Chem in my Sophomore year instead of “Chem for engineers”, and It’s been freaking me out since that seems like a huge discrepancy. I never took the AP exam for the class but I’m really scared that they’re going to rescind my application. Should I just contact their office of admissions and just pray?
I think it is better you contact them now and be proactive than have them find it.
*I just got into one of my top choices, sorry for typo
I’ll call the office of admissions tomorrow and I’ll let you guys know what happens, I do agree that I should be proactive so they don’t have to be surprised if I accept their SIR, I’ve just been really stressed after I found out I made this mistake.
Hopefully it won’t be an issue.
Did you just find this out? Was it an honest mistake? These are relevant questions I think.
One AP course isn’t going to make any difference in admissions, I wouldn’t think. But definitely address it asap as you apparently are.
You have no reasonable choice but to inform them. I think that it is very unlikely that a college would rescind an offer of admission over this.
Just contacted the admissions office, it was a relief hearing that it won’t actually impact my admissions! Thanks for the tips!
