So back in November, I applied to CSU Bakersfield and was accepted. Not much happened until recently when I visited the campus as part of a tour set up by the swim team there, which I have recently verbally committed to. I decided that I wanted to go there, accepted the provisional admission, and received the welcome packet. Today, I went over my application just to be sure that I had reported everything accurately and noticed that something was off about the self-reported grades. Grades had been reported in a way that did not match my transcript. It turned out that this had something to do with the fact that I attended 2 different high schools, one of which used a semester system, and the other used a block/quarter system. As a result, the grades look very different from the way they do on my transcript. I decided to send the admissions office an email telling them about the mistake and how the grades should be, but my parents said that I should have left it alone and will probably be rescinded now. My competitive swimming career is over if I do not get into CSUB, so while I do have backups, I pretty much have to get in. Even though I reported the error before they discovered it and sent in the correct grades, I am aware that I will probably still be rescinded. Is there anything else I can do? Thank you all in advance for the help!
I think you did the right thing by emailing them the mistake as soon as you found it. They would have noticed the error when your high school sends final transcripts at the end of the year, and you would have risked being rescinded then with no other options of schools to attend.
I don’t think you can do anything else right now other than wait. I hope it all works out for you!
