I applied to IU with a GPA slightly below the required and SAT score slightly above the required score for direct addition. I never bothered to petition for Kelley direct admit because I decided that I would probably not go to the school either way. I applied EA and my friends who applied EA qualified and got their direct admission a couple weeks after being admitted. I’m not sure how I got the direct admission 4 months after others without qualifying through stats or petition. Anyone have any idea on how this happened?
Same, had almost committed to another university, now going to IU. IDK how it happened but I’m glad it did
Are you saying your stats did not meet those required for Direct Admit at Kelley but you got in without a petition process? With the early (first semester) and end of year withdrawals from the U this year due to mold crisis, wondering if that has impacted the numbers seeking admission.
Good for you getting in Direct A. That is interesting as DA is usually so competitive and if a student doesn’t have both pre-requisite numbers you typically have to petition. Is it possible you were recruited by IU for another initiative. I recall the President mentioning their diversity initiatives as being a significant goal overall for IU. Some are curious if the mold crisis that caused some students to withdraw at end of first semester and others at end of this semester has had any impact on those seeking admission this year. DA has its advantages for sure.
