I got accepted! Whoo! I have to admit I had my doubts at one point. I'm just so excited now. I am so eager to submit that Freshmen deposit as soon as possible, but I was thinking I should wait until I get the rest of my decision letters from everywhere else. Will waiting a while to send the $250 have any consequences?
Also, did anyone else receive news? I am so incredibly happy...I can't contain my joy.

Congratulations! How long did it take you to get a response? My guidance counselor sucks and still hasn’t sent out my transcripts or recommendations yet, but after she does, how many weeks/months should I expect to wait for a decision?

I don’t know about CheriAnne, but I received my letter about sixteen business days after everything had been submitted.

P.S. CheriAnne, based on what they sent me with my acceptance letter, I don’t think waiting to submit your deposit will hurt (at least, I hope not). Housing forms only go out after May 1, so you’re not at risk of losing housing or whatnot. I think that’s generally the major concern with postponing submission of deposit.

I sent out my application/transcript/test scores around 2 weeks ago, but my teacher didn’t sent out my recommendation letter until last Friday. The letter is dated 11/3 so I’m assuming they already had an idea of their decision for me since that is only a few days later.
Now all there is to worry about for me is the whole tuition thing. I don’t think I have the stomach to say no to them though. Rose has been my first choice school for over a year.

Thanks guys, it seems as if RHIT sends out their decisions pretty darn quickly, so I hope to get a decision soon because I just e-mailed my counselor and she finally said she sent out my recs and transcripts to them and other schools.

CheriAnne, waiting to send in the deposit will not hurt you, as long as you get it in before May 1. Up until now the Admissions Office has been able to keep up with the applications as they come in, but applications are starting to come in much faster as it gets close to Thanksgiving. It may take longer to receive a decision if you send in your application in the next few weeks, but they will still review applications as soon as they can in the order that they are complete.

Congrats! I got accepted too!

If any of you other accepted students are on Facebook, check out the groups for the RHIT Class of 2014. We have two going right now; the larger one is the more active one at present.

Thanks everyone. My counselor said I was the only person in my school to ever apply to Rose. That makes me feel cool. I plan on going to their December 4th campus day. This will be the second time in my life I will get on a plane haha.
I never really use my facebook account, but I’ll check out that group phanatic.

haha congrats Cheri! I am also going to be the only person in my school to ever apply to Rose, too! that’ll be pretty cool tho if I do decide to attend Rose, we’ll both be from NY. XD

I doubt I’m the only person ever to apply (considering I am in Illinois), but if I go I will probably be the only person to ever go there from my school.

I’m also the only person to ever apply from my school. Woot. My counselor made me tell a group of visiting Chamber of Commerce members where I was applying, because she said, “That name does not roll off the tongue easily.”

But “Number one engineering school in the country” does. :D

Haha. I was at a visit day for IIT and I was sitting at a table with my parents when we started talking to another family there. The mother asked what schools I was looking at and I said Rose-Hulman. Well, there was another kid who was alone (with no parents) at the table and he said “Wait, isn’t that supposed to be number one in the country?” and I was happy to reply “Yes!” Although there is the technicalities with it being ranked just among non-PhD granting schools, we look past that…

Congrats everyone! =]
I just got my acceptance today!!!

Congratulations SultunPepper! It’s great to hear from everyone as they get accepted. The admissions office plans to have all the completed applications reviewed before Thanksgiving, so if you’re still waiting you should hear soon.

Accepted!!! =D

Accepted. I do have to seriously consider RHIT because of the small environment. Going to a private school with only 400 kids, RHIT will probably seem more comfortable. I still haven’t visited it yet, so I will do so asap.

Congrats everyone! Maybe you’ll be my future classmates.

I can proudly add myself to this thread. Got my letter today! Come on Financial Aid!
