Got my ranking ..Is it good enough for Columbia?

My ranking is #11 from a class of 560 students. So is this ranking a "good" ranking for Columbia?

.......yes

That's kind of a nebulous question, and for that it deserves a nebulous answer: it all depends. Selective colleges get gorging erections from rejecting valedictorians and perfect SATers, and they accept a ton of kids who don't have exceptional stats also. But don't get me wrong; the vast majority of students (at brand-name universities) are still in the top five or so of their public high school class. I think it has a lot to do with how competitive your high school is (average SAT score, average 4-year college matriculation, etc.), which your counselor fills out in the secondary school report.

Thats definately not a bad rank. Percentage wise it looks good even though you're not no1

Your entire school record, which includes your rank, GPA, school quality, course schedule, etc., must be good enough for Columbia. Class rank isn't in a vacuum.

Everything that blah1111 says is correct.
