It depends. Nothing is terribly expensive in LA, unless you feel like going shopping all the time or eating off campus every day. I can't really give you a figure. You can always get an on-campus job if you're worried about personal expenses.

when did you receive your acceptance letter?

Last year it was something like ...late march? I think they let you know when they are done and in the process of sending stuff out (snail mail).

I saw on Google street view that there are a lot of trees and shrubbery. Was this just a bad representation or are there actually lots of trees (it's kinda nostalgic because it reminds me of the zoo in DC)?

There are lots of trees. We thought that it was a beautiful campus, and surprising for being right in LA.

Yeup lots of trees.

When will the admission decisions be mailed?

^^Soon. Late march or so.

What about transfer decisions? Does anyone know if the online application status eventually shows your admissions decision?

Oh Gosh, doing the Oxy application now, three hours left!

Yikes, good luck.

My application has been in a couple of weeks. All the supplemental stuff has been in since March 6th. That hasn't stopped me from checking the applicant checklist every day, even on the weekends. I don't know what I expect to see there! I hope it doesn't "log" my visit everytime I check it, they'd probably think I'm crazy.

Anyway, I hope everyone who wants in gets in, including myself. But if I can't get in I still hope you do.

March 25 to be exact

10 days...
Gah. I hope good news is on the way. Good luck to everyone.

I'll probably get my letter on the 27th or 28th, and I'll be out of town during those days:(

Thank you!

StevenSeagal, how do you know the date?

I got this email from them

We are moving into the final weeks of our application evaluation process, and we look forward to sending our decisions on March 25.

It is imperative that we receive your fall term/semester final grades in order to render a decision on your application.

Please arrange to have these grades faxed to us at (323) 341-4875 by Thursday, March 5.

Thanks!

Oh I don't think I got that. Did you need to send your fall semester grades?

ThatPoshGirl: Haha Good job getting it on time week before, I finally got mine in on time. Wish I had more time to thoroughly review my answers, but I guess I re-read them enough times. I was just so busy with midterms!

Well I sent them the grades in the mail (along with a great letter of recommendation), but they never got them:( So they sent me that email and my counselor faxed them over.
