Got rejected Should I appeal?

Pretty disappointing to get my first rejection letter from my first choice, but I'm not too devistated. I believe that I probably applied too late (2/15) for rolling admissions (even though I had e-mailed the admissions office and they assured me that they were not rolling). I did get accepted to the University of Miami and I qualify for tuition remission (basically it's free) and a number of other Lib. Arts schools (Hendrix, College of Wooster, Evergreen State ect.) Should I appeal the decision or should I simply go to UM for a year or two and try to transfer in? I do believe that NCF is a perfect fit, but besides updated transcripts and possibly a recomendation, there is not much I can send to them in terms of academic evidence that I already have.

I know it’s disappointing and I don’t have any useful advice to offer. Usually something you want is worth fighting for, but I suspect the admissions committee gave your application a thorough read and is unlikely to change their decision. If you are serious about transferring to New College I would recommend staying in FL, enrolling at University of Miami, doing well there, and sending New College a strong transfer application. Good Luck!

I completely agree with dntw8up. This is exactly what I did. I enrolled at UM, realized it was not my thing, and sent in my application to New College in January. I got my acceptance package last Saturday. If you do well at UM and write a very good app essay, you’ll get in no problem. Good luck!
