Goucher vs. ?

What other schools did people apply to? Just curious.

My son will be attending Goucher in the fall. He also applied to: Ursinus, Hiram, Kenyon, Oberlin and Beloit...all small, liberal arts. Goucher was his first choice so we are all thrilled.

My daughter and her friend from H.S. will also be attending Goucher in the fall! She was accepted to Ursinus, Clark, American (spring '07), Towson, Quinnipiac, Ithaca and a few other LAC's. She just decided today after re-visiting during admitted students day that this would be the best fit for her!

My daughter is trying to decide: Goucher, Rhodes, Eckerd, Hampshire. I hated Hampshire, but need help with Goucher and the others. What did she like about Goucher.

My daughter really liked the feel of the campus, the dorms (above average), food was good, the students and profs seemed warm and inviting, the academics (there were many majors/minors in case she changed hers from psychology), and terrific location. The school is located in Towson, which has a lot to do within walking distance, such as a big mall, movie theater, restaurants, etc. There is also the free Colltown shuttle, which takes the students directly from Goucher to other points of interest nearby (Towson U., Loyola, Johns Hopkins, and the Baltimore Inner Harbor). There is also a lot of great internship opportunities in the Baltimore area, and also is only about 1 hour from D.C. Goucher is also now requiring that new students have a study abroad requirement, whether it's for 3 weeks, a semester or 1 year. They provide the students with money to offset the travel expenses of at least $1200.
