Governors Honors Program Georgia or other Math Camp

Hey guys,

So in Georgia, we have this thing called Governors Honors Program and you are nominated to go by your teachers. Its completely free and its a 6 residential program at Valdosta State university in which you study a "major" and a "minor". If I get nominated, is it better for my college app to go there or is it better to go to a math camp like Canada/USA MathCamp or SUMaC (Stanford), or PROMYS?

Thanks all

Depends. What do you plan on majoring in? Which one are you most interested in?

I don’t know which looks “better” for your application, but my daughter went to GHP 5 years ago and made several life long friends, in fact she was just in her GHP roommates wedding!

For many schools, your application is usually read by your regional rep first, and they would know that GHP is a highly competetive program that takes the best in Georgia. Good luck!

I plan on Majoring in Mathematics and Computer Science, so I’m assuming that I will be nominated for Mathematics :stuck_out_tongue: if I get nominated at all, that is
