GPA advice

Hi all,

I'm a junior seeking advice about GPA in regard to Williams admissions. How does a 3.8 unweighted and 4.64 weighted GPA look? Would a 2250+ score and 3 700+ SAT II scores make up for it?

I'm very nervous because Williams has always been one of my top choices - does a 3.8 unweighted seem pretty low for Williams? I go to a super competitive school in Maryland and one of the top schools in the nation, and I am an Asian female. My junior year schedule is one of the toughest and my sophomore year was just as comparable.

Would my GPA hurt me a lot? What are some things that I can do to compensate for it?

I'd appreciate any input, thanks.

lucky, Your grades and scores are fine for Williams. Your rank would be the third statistical element that is considered.

Williams puts a lot of emphasis on the intangibles: essays, recommendations, extracurriculars, talent, character, leadership, life experience, demography.

Keep up the good academic work but focus on developing your non-academic side as well.

I would add that your GPA will not be considered in a vacuum. How does your school usually fare with Williams/other top LACs? And how does your GPA/rank stack up compared to your peers?
