GPA and MCAT score

With 3.6+ sGPA (very hard major) from one of the top 10 school and 33+ MCAT score, what kind of Medical school is the reach?

Shoot top 20 as your reaches. I think most of the schools ranked 11-20 have a 34-35.

Depends on your ECs, and how much greater than 33 you’re talking about

A 3.6 is rather low, and if your mcat is just a 33 then you don’t have much of a chance at any top 20 schools unless you have some really nice EC’s.

If you got fantastic EC’s, then a 3.5 and a 32 wont keep you out of anywhere.
Just be sure to get a 10+ on verbal

For EC, three year research in the summer. Volunteer in hospital, club officer, one publication as co-author, one year TA.

The lower GPA is due to the math. 2 AP math credit. 4 higher level maths include stat. The grade for the 4 maths are C+, B, B+, A-. All other science grade are As. Will they only take 2 math score or all 4 score for sGPA?

What undergrad school did you go to?

^^^

He went to Duke, I think…

MCAT score 32, but reading only 8… My son messed up his MCAT on the reading section. He could get 10 or 11 but end up with 8. Does he still have chance for medical school this year? His major is Biomedical engineer and his GPA is about 3.65.
