I see alot of people stating their weighted GPA's. My question is do all high schools weight GPA's the same? For instance, our high school adds .33 for Honors courses and .67 for AP courses. Is this the same everywhere?

No. In fact, high schools’ systems for weighting grades are wildly and notoriously different.

A weighted GPA is not very meaningful. A weighted class rank might be, because it compares you to your high school classmates while taking the difficulty of everyone’s course load into account. But it’s pointless to compare weighted GPAs from different school systems. (And so colleges don’t do it.)

Ah. Makes perfect sense! Thank you!
