<p>Does anyone know if colleges factor in grades from electives when they calculate GPA or do they just look at core academic classes?</p>

<p>i've always assumed that they incorporate everything--all the classes you're taking, electives and core.</p>
<p>The way I've heard it they usually recalculate your GPA to ignore things like gym (and possibly arts depending on the school). The catch to that is though that they are usually powerless to recalculating class rank, so those classes will likely count for that important factor.</p>
