GPA conversion

Hi I'm from PA and have been accepted and am on the 4.0 UW scale and I noticed that honors college and some of the scholarships require outrageous GPAs (4.8?? Around) and am wondering how you convert a 4.0 scale to a 5.0 scale. I have a 3.77 weighted gpa. Any help would be appreciated!

I asked about that on this forum earlier, the conclusion I gathered was that you add +1 for AP and Honors courses and only count the core courses (no PE, music, etc.).

Ok thanks do you mean .1 or a whole 1

Here ya go!

As for your other thread, I think you have a shot, depending on your recalculated GPA. Good luck!

Do you think it would be worth going to USC for IB because my decision letter said I’m pre IB and I’m wondering if it’s worth going if most likely I won’t be admitted or is there not much focused on IB in your freshman or sophomore year anyways?

You have to complete certain prerequisites to formally apply to IB at end of sophomore year. If you are honors (and maybe capstone - not as sure) then you automatically get in IB as junior as long as you have met requirements and have min. GPA. Might want to decide once you know if you get in capstone or honors (if you applied).

So you don’t really do anything IB related freshman and sophomore year then?

You take basic business courses and Core General educ courses required by business school. Go to website and look for academic bulletin here to see what is required. On business school site I think there is explanation about what has to be completed before you apply to upper level.
