Do you think there's a "minimum" GPA you must have to be accepted as a first-year? What's the lowest GPA you've ever heard of an accepted student having?

I think a lot of us are wondering.

Do you think there's a "minimum" GPA you must have to be accepted as a first-year? What's the lowest GPA you've ever heard of an accepted student having?

I think a lot of us are wondering.

I don’t think there a stated minimum, but from reading the threads from accepted students this year and last I dont recall seeing anything much below 3.5. Of course, if a member of certain minority groups, recruited athlete, etc, maybe a little lower??

Do you mean high school GPA? If yes, I think anything below 3.5 would be very unlikely.

I think that you really need to be above a 3.7 unweighted to have a solid chance.

So my resume is exemplary in terms of SATs, ECs, essays, etc, but my unweighted GPA is a 3.69. I have no hooks, unless being Jewish is a hook at Georgetown.

Do you think regular acceptance into SFS is out of the question?

The GPA can’t really be taken all by itself. Was it all As in academic classes or Bs, but brought up due to As in electives? Is it a hard or easy grading school? What rigor did you take, etc? Basically…I think RANK, when added to the GPA will tell Georgetown a truer story.

I’ve seen people get in with lower than a 3.5 GPA so I don’t think you should be fretting about “minimum” GPA and worry about how well-regarded your school is and write a spectacular essay if your GPA isn’t that great.

Also, SFS is harder to get into than Georgetown College, junyer
