I'm a civil engineer major. Hopefully they will like my essay and my honesty I've shown in them. =</p>

<p>Transferring from a Cal State to UCB/UCLA in engineering is going to be very hard with a 3.5</p>
<p>UCLA is still in range with you dbguy, UCB is out of range. With UCLA, if you still all your pre reqs you still have a chance. Last year, UCLA took a lot of engineers especially civil.</p>

<p>OKAY.... i Just saw one of my grades... which is HISTORY, and i got a C in there.. thats my ONLY C, will that kill my chances? i got B's and A's in the rest of my other classes which my major classes, will the C for my GE tramendously hurt my chance of getting in?! im really disapponinted.</p>

<p>oh i just saw ur major and schools u applied to... after getting a C ur GPA is 3.5? if your pre-req class grades are good and pre-req done you are competitve for UCLA/UCSD/UCI... since history is just a GE, it won't effect your chance that much... by the way my friend got in to civil engin last yr with 3.5 to UCLA but rejected to UCB</p>
<p>OH! thank you... my hopes are still up there now.. i was so bummed out last night.. especially cause i saw my grade when i was a little hmm gone.. since finals were over. haha but phew.. that took a some weight off my shoulder.</p>
<p>but since your transferring from Cal State not CC... less chance but you still got hopes cuz ur GPA is 3.5! G luck</p>

<p>That C will probably hurt you, but if you did well on your pre req classes UCLA should be a match</p>
<p>It's also a negative trend, and UCB admissions strongly takes grade trends into consideration.</p>

<p>currently 3.56 UCI biomedical engineering with undergraduate research and internship at hospital.</p>
<p>after this quarter gpa would prob be around a 3.3-3.4</p>
