GPA for ED Candidate

Hello! I applied ED to Wellesley, and I'm having some last minute flutters regarding my GPA. It's a 3.6/4.25, with a Top 10% rank. This means I've earned 2 B's each semester, along with an additional B in the second semester of two years. I'm incredibly involved (25+ hours a week on extracurriculars) and dedicated to my community and my ACT is a 31. I felt that my Wellesley supplement was one of the best pieces of writing I have ever completed, and I had it reviewed by a student. I also visited and interviewed, which went really well.

I have some very personal issues that I discussed with my counselor regarding my grades, but I doubt he included them in his recommendation letter. I decided not to send Wellesley an "explanation", because I felt that it would come off as an excuse. Should I be worrying, or do I just let it go at this point?

Politicalgirl, from what I’ve seen, a 3.6 GPA does NOT put Wellesley out of your reach ED. As long a you’ve shown them that you’re dedicated to the school-- which it looks like you have-- and have great supplemental materials, I’d bet you have every bit as good a chance as anyone else  Actually, when I was there at the discover weekend, one admission officer literally said to us, “I barely even glance at the GPA”. I think at this point, you should probably just relax-- sending an explanation at this point probably wouldn’t help. I know we’re all freaking out, but I hope to see you at Wellesley :)
