Ok. I am a little confused by the GPA thing for a few reasons.

My average is a 89.2 and 101.3 weighted. What would that translate to GPA wise?

Let's create two students for example with 5 grades each:

90, 90, 81, 81, 90

92, 92, 88, 89, 87

According to the 4.0 scale (100-90 = 4.0 and 89-80 = 3.0 unweighted)

1st one = 3.6 GPA and an 86.4 average

2nd = 3.4 GPA and an 89.6 average

What point is there to GPA then? It seems that overall average is far more indicative of ability.

thats not how it works. you get scores like 3.7 for A- and 3.5 or something for B+ so its not like its so coarsly cut.

still i have no clue what your school does. check with your guidence counsler for help with that.

actually student 1 would have a 3.27 and student 2 would have a 3.47.

Student 1:

A-, A-, B-, B-, A- = (3.67+3.67+2.67+2.67+3.67)/5 = 3.27

Student 2:

A-, A-, B+, B+, B+ = (3.67+3.67+3.33+3.33+3.33)/5 = 3.466

Anyone consider a 3.47 GPA unweighted as good considering that I am taking 9 classes, with 6 IB and 2 AP?

Um, no. (10 Characters)
