I have a few questions when it comes to the old GPA.

1) My school has AP classes and only honors-level stuff as it is a Magnet, but it does not weight any classes. Will this affect admissions at all or will schools automatically weight my AP classes?
2) Is the GPA scale usually based on what my school has or is it more interal? My school also doesn't do pluses or minuses on grades, so it's either A,B,C,D, or F. Does this mean that any A grade would be considered a 4.0?

Thanks.

Talk to your guidance counselor. My understanding is that a lot of colleges will recalculate your GPA based on their own system. Also, your school should be sending each college a school profile which explains your school's grading system and course levels. You should ask your gc to see it.

All right; I'll go next year & talk about this info. I'm pretty sure all colleges know are school is really rigorous, but I just want to check to be sure.

I go to a magnet school as well. I share similar concerns about GPA. My school only gives A B C F. Contact me about this, we might be able to come to a solution, by both asking around. my e-mail is lotusman89@yahoo.com
