GPA recalculation:final grades or term grades?

I have a question about how colleges recalculate GPAs...do they do it based on your term/trimester/semester grades, or based on the final grades that you received in each class? I have gotten all A's/A-'s for final year grades in all my hs classes, but have gotten a sprinkling of B+'s for trimester grades.

DONT GET ME WRONG, im not freaking out over B+'s or anything....i was just curious about this whole process. thanks guys :)

anyone?! :(

I actually thought trimester was the end of a term. Isn't it?
At my school we get two grades for every year, and they're both final grades that the colleges see and calculate, and they're also semester grades.

It might depend on what your high school sends. Except for senior mid year grades, my d's school sends only final grades. If it's a one-semester course, it's the final for that semester. If it's a year-long course, it's the final grade for the year. So they can't use the quarter grades, which are not reported.
