How do I know which GPA scale my school uses to calculate students' GPA?

I thought mine was by the 4.0 scale; but according to college board (click), my school doesn't do it that way. AP Classes are given an extra point. And even if a class assigns a + or a -, it doesn't affect the point system. So a B- would still be the same 3 as a B+ in a regular class.

A scholarship asks for my GPA and the scale. No idea what to put down.. help please! Thank you!!

Isn’t that extra point “weight”? Don’t they want your “unweighted” score? Does your school not provide you with an unweighted score? (I know some don’t). My D just applied for a scholly where it was hard to tell what to write also - but…don’t you have to provide a transcript? And/or school prospectus? Ask the scholarship people what they want you to put (but don’t let them talk you into 5.0 scale because that’s not right and it will hurt you).

If nothing else, maybe put that you have a 4.5 on a 4.0 scale. That will send them back to your transcript to suss it out. And they’ll see that you’re above scale so it’s weighting, and have to figure it out. ??
