GPA: Senior year grades included?????????????

Do colleges recalculate your gpa to include your senior year grades??? I am applying early decision to tufts, will they take my first term/semester grades and calculate that into my gpa?

So ending question: Do colleges include senior year grades in their calculation?

same question…

buummmmppp!!!

They can’t for ED. Decisions for ED are released before first semester grades. Some colleges ask for 1st quarter grades to make sure students are continuing to perform at a high level, but I don’t think they use it for GPA calculations. As for RD, that is why they ask for mid year reports with updated grades from first semester of senior year.

I don’t know if they actually recalculate your GPA with it but they do take senior year grades into consideration. I mean, probably more so than Sophomore and Freshmen year grades.

Would you guys recommend I apply for ED if my freshman and sophomore years weren’t that strong, but my junior year was a 4.0?

I don’t see how that should play any factor into ED. You should chose to apply ED if the school is your #1 option and you have no financial concerns about attending (meaning you can pay even if you don’t get any FA).
