GPA to USC

My GPA is low compared to a lot of the accepted kids on the forum (3.73uw, 4.0w). Will this hurt my chances at USC a lot, or is it fine?

It really depends on what your SAT score was and what your GPA is. You can check the medium USC stats of admitted applicants online.

I did, 3.7 was the average enrolled, 3.8 average admitted. My SAT is over 75% percentile, though.

My GPA was 3.7-3.8 (uw) and my SAT score was not so great comepared to people here... (but i was in the range USC wanted) and I still made it in... somehow even people like me can make it in sometimes so I think you should be ok..

Hmm . . . I'm starting to reconsider where I want to go; I think USC is the place for me, but I'm swinging back and forth.

2.9 UW and 3.2 W, but a 2070 SAT. Do i have any hope?

GPA is a bit more important in admissions, I've heard. However, that GPA is way below average, while your SAT are in the average range for admitted students.

Quick related question: I know the UCs don't average in freshman year GPAs. Because USC is a private school, do they just do it the normal way (i.e., count all three years)?

Yes they do.

USC counts all the years but they also realize that some people don't start off so well Freshman year so they are a little more lenient when it comes to that.

Murasaki, your GPA is fine! But I heard that USC takes SATs slightly more into consideration,(I could be wrong) but I'm sure you've got that in the bag. Like most universities, its really an overall thing they're looking for.

That is very comforting, I'll try harder on my 4/1 SAT.

muraski, are you a senior or a junior?

If you've already applied to USC, why are you taking the SAT again?

I'm a junior.
