GPA too low. No chance of transferring at all?

Hi I’m planning on transferring from a pretty competitive university to other private colleges. I’m applying to some top schools and I’m applying as a freshman in college because I’m under a transfer plan to one of my potential colleges (allows me to apply as a freshman). However I got a 3.6 GPA on my first quarter at my current school because of one B, and plan to raise it with more A’s my 2nd quarter. Is my GPA for my fall transcript too low and doesn’t stand a chance to apply to elite colleges (ivies, elite privates, etc.)? My second quarter ends after applications are sent, so even if I show better grades, I’m not sure if the colleges would consider those grades or if the Midterm Report (which they want from me) would carry much weight? There isn’t much of a “cushion” for me to fall on since it’s my first quarter and haven’t taken previous courses. I can only try to improve from here on out.

I had a 4.1 in hs, over a 2000 SAT, 650+ & 780+ subject tests, A’s on some college courses I took, unique extracurriculars/hobbies, and was waitlisted by a few of the schools I’m applying to when I was a senior in hs. Not sure if they would really look at my hs stuff, but just for context.

Basically, what’s your opinion/reasoning of my chances/stats? And if colleges would look at post-fall quarter grades, even if they’re sent after the transfer application deadline?

Stop worrying about this. Complete your application, and see what happens.
