I stated my grades earlier but I wanted ask about GPA. My GPA 9th grade was 3.72 uw. In 10th grade, it was 3.89. In 11th grade, I have had a 4.0 (so far lol). My cumulative is 3.87uw/4.03w. I know selective/really selective school (Cornell) won’t like such low GPA the first two years, but I have a reason. I moved to my current state before 8th grade, so it was all still really new to me and the transition was very rough. Will they look at the positive trend as a good thing or will the 9th grade GPA ruin my chances? My rigor of classes has also increased every year. I know that there’s a lot more to the app (35 ACT, Research internship this summer, possible Joyce Ivy Scholar, Mock Trial and Science Olympiad Regional Champions and some other things). I’m just wondering about my GPA in relation to things like this. I know my ECs aren’t the best but, they’re not completely awful either (I think). Thank you for the comments!!!
Yes, a positive trend in grades is looked uppn favorably. If you have an explanation for the earlier grades, that would help as well.
